Utegration MeterData4U® 110_600 Achieves SAP® Certified Integration with SAP NetWeaver® to Simplify Smart Metering for Utilities

Solution features streamlined architecture that enables improved billing timeliness and more efficient customer-facing processes

Houston, TX – September 23, 2020 – Utegration LLC announced today that its MeterData4U™ version 110_600, a CIS-embedded Meter Data Management (MDM) solution, has achieved SAP certified integration with the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform by the SAP® Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC).

MeterData4U 110_600 enables utilities running SAP Energy Data Management and SAP Advanced Metering Infrastructure (SAP AMI Integration for Utilities) to implement smart metering using a two-tier approach. Compared with a traditional three-tier approach, this model reduces the technological footprint by removing the need for a separate MDM solution.

This architecture enables a holistic view of metering, billing and customer data sets providing unparalleled insight into day-to-day operational challenges as well as cutting edge analytical capabilities. Customer-facing representatives are empowered to resolve customer inquiries quickly and efficiently without moving between systems or engaging in manual processes.

MeterData4U CIS-embedded MDM simplifies the roll out and maintenance of smart metering leveraging SAP Energy Data Management and SAP AMI Integration for Utilities via the following features:

  • Flexible rules engine allows validation of incoming read and interval data from Head End System (HES)
  • Estimation rules engine addresses missing or invalid reads before they cause billing delays
  • Increased data precision by eliminating synchronization requirements between MDM and the SAP for Utilities solution
  • Native integration to SAP field operations for efficient field dispatch
  • Real-time processing engine for field metering events and alerts

“With MeterData4U 110_600, this two-tier approach has finally been delivered in a commercially available product,” said Henry Bailey, EVP and Chief Strategy Officer at Utegration. “Our team of experts has taken years of AMI experience working with legacy MDM systems and created a state-of-the-art solution that leverages the power of SAP integration to help utilities operate more simply and efficiently.”
