Utegration MeterData4U® Solution for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Receives a U.S. Patent

MeterData4U patented functionality helps simplify meter data management and allows utilities to do more with AMI.

Houston, TX – November 14, 2022 – Utegration LLC’s MeterData4U solution has been granted a US Patent (11,460,321) for its progressive design in processing and leveraging utility smart meter data to drive utility operations. The solution unifies advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) data and customer information system (CIS) data in one elegant solution, streamlining architecture and business processes and helping to make it easier and more affordable for utilities to innovate and create meaningful customer interactions.

The cutting-edge solution helps energy and water companies running CIS technology to reduce AMI solution complexity by streamlining the collection, validation, estimation and editing (VEE), and processing of AMI data to support billing and customer service processes.  Certified by SAP for integration with SAP NetWeaver®, the solution helps enhance utilities’ business capabilities with AMI and further increase the value of their investment in SAP® technology, including SAP S/4HANA®.

MeterData4U is gaining momentum at a time when utilities that have implemented AMI are looking for ways to reduce complexity and realize more strategic benefits from the technology. Initial AMI, or AMI 1.0, implementations and rollouts focused mainly on optimizing meter-to-cash operations but didn’t deliver meaningful customer and societal benefits. Today, both customers and regulators are ramping up pressure for utilities to deliver more benefits — especially related to financial, environmental and other demands — from these considerable investments.

MeterData4U helps utilities do more with the AMI solutions that they already have implemented. The solution also increases the effectiveness of AMI 2.0 technology.

Leveraging proven CIS and AMI enablement functionality along with Utegration’s new patented design, MeterData4U helps utilities:

      • Increase the speed of business
      • Make more intelligent decisions
      • Improve customer experience
      • Create happier, more productive users
      • Reduce total cost of ownership

“Utilities today have the opportunity to make a difference in their customers’ lives,” says Chris Bui, managing director for advanced metering infrastructure at Utegration. “Whether it’s providing ways to manage costs, conserve natural resources, or any number of new expectations customers have, MeterData4U helps utilities use AMI data to improve customer engagement, elevate their customer relationships and become a true partner in their customers’ success.”

MeterData4U can be deployed either on premises or in the cloud, jointly with a utility’s existing CIS. It is available either as a standalone add-on for SAP Bill to Cash or bundled as a joint CIS + MDM offering as part of Utegration’s Utility4U accelerator package.  Utility4U is a pre-configured, modular utility platform — built on the SAP Utilities Core — a cloud solution.  The pre-integrated, packaged CIS and MDM offers utilities an affordable and low-risk way to quickly modernize their operations and accelerate innovation.

MeterData4U is available on SAP Store.
